About Paul Lange
He wrote this book because the future deserves better ancestors.
That's the line the book's author note closes on, printed after the bio and before the list of his other titles. It's the shortest answer to why this one exists.
The bio

Paul Lange has spent more than 35 years running and fixing businesses. He started in hospitality, on the floor, where the feedback is immediate and there's nowhere to hide a bad decision. The finance came later, and it came second.
That order is the point, and it's the whole of his method. He isn't a commentator who read the case studies. He's carried the risk personally, in his own companies, with his own money, through the parts that don't make it into a case study, which is why he can tell what a decision actually costs the person who has to make it.

Out of that work came Total QX™, a framework built through the 1990s inside the businesses he was turning around rather than in a workshop, and later Manolutions, the firm he founded and still runs. It does business optimisation and leadership counsel. It does not do coaching.

He's the author of four books. Three of them form The Leadership OS Trilogy, about running something, and this is the third. The fourth sits outside it and isn't about running a business at all.
He lives in Australia, cycles, cooks, and meditates daily.
Where this one sits
Evolve or Be Remembered closes The Leadership OS Trilogy, so it's still a leadership book and still the third part of a set about running something. It's also where the writing starts to turn.
He describes it in the Foreword as beginning life as private essays and scattered notes shared only in trusted circles, and says the deeper he went, the clearer it got that these weren't just thoughts but reflections from the edge of something inevitable. It names a friend he lost. It quotes what he tells his 12-year-old son about the moment he's been born into. And it's the only one of the four that says plainly it isn't trying to persuade anybody.
That direction carries on past the trilogy. The Inheritance Manifesto goes further into it and is the more personal book so far, and there's more coming that goes deeper still. This is where it starts.

The other three
The 20% Leader is the execution book and the Mis(très)s Entrepreneur Manifesto is about power and presence. With this one they make The Leadership OS Trilogy.
The Inheritance Manifesto sits outside the trilogy: a declaration on values, sovereignty, and what we bequeath.
